4 Months Old (a little late)!

On November 8, Mary Claire turned 4 months old!! It's so hard to believe how fast time has flown!! She is just the sweetest baby! She got again shots right before she turned 4 months.

Here are her stats:
Weight: 14.4 pounds
Head: 40cm
Height: 26.5 inches (not sure this one is really accurate... ) This would put her in the 95%! We do have some tall people on the Davis side though.

We are still on the Zantac for reflux and have also had to add prune juice once a day.. We are having major constipation issues at our house! It's just horrible to see sweet Mary Claire try to go! The prune juice has helped ,but it could still be better at times! I never knew what it would be like to pray for my baby to poop until now! Oh and I have never gotten so excited to see a baby poop in my life until now! I really hope she out grows this at some point, but until then I will pray for poop!

Here are a few things she is now doing:
- she is smiling and laughing
- she tries to sit up and likes to be up looking around
- she still loves the paci
- she is eating 6 ounces of similac sensitive every 3 to 4 hours during the day.
- she will sleep from about 8 to 4:30 which I will blame the time change for the earlier wake up. Usually I can just feed her and then she will go back to sleep.
- She has discovered her hands and feet! She loves to play with them!
- MC is such a happy baby most of the time .. And She doesn't cry near as much Mallory did.

4 months old is such a sweet age!! I just love her so much and feel so blessed to be her mommy!! Here are some pictures from this past month! Enjoy!

3 Months old came to fast!

I still find it hard to believe that Mary Claire is already 3 months old! Goodness where have the weeks gone??! She is such a sweet and happy baby!

Here are some facts about her at this age:

- She loves to snuggle!
- She still loves her paci
- Her hair is still dark and she has only lost a little compared to how much Mallory lost. I don't think the dark hair will stay though!
- She spits up more than you can imagine! But I will take the dirty laundry!
- Her reflux is still under control with Zantac and we give it to her 2 times a day. She takes 1.2 ml.
- She is loving bath time so much now that she is kicking water all over me and my kitchen floor!
- She is drinking 6 ounces but sometimes will only drink 5.
- We are still on similac sensitive
- She is smiling lots and try's to talk too! She just loves to be talked to!
- I think she weighs around 12 pounds
- She is sleeping from about 8:30 to 5ish which is great!
- Mallory stills adores her baby sister!
- She is still sleeping in the rock in play and sleeps so much better with white noise playing.
- We are still swaddling her! Whoever invented those Velcro swaddle blankets knew what they were doing! I couldn't live with out that right now!
- She goes to work with me while Mallory is at play school 3 mornings a week and usually doesn't make a peep!
- She has good head control now.
- She can still wear 0-3 months clothes, but they are getting tight so we are now starting to use 3 months.

She is just such a doll and her smiles just melt my heart! I know we are truly blessed! I seriously can't imagine life with out my sweet girls!

This past weekend, we met our friends the Sweatt's from Georgia in Gulf Shores at the bay house. We met this sweet couple when we lived in Valdosta, Georgia and have been great friends ever since! Even though we now have 7 hours between us , we still make time at least once a year to get together! This was our second year in a row to head to Gulf Shores. They now have 2 little girls like we do. Their oldest is in kindergarten and youngest just turned 1. Man how fun it was to just hang out like old times and also get to see their sweet girls! Mallory and Anna play really well together and had a lot of fun! We went to the beach, had a shrimp boil, went shopping at the outlet mall and also went swimming. It was a fun few days, but seemed way to short! I had a hard time not shedding a tear when we said our goodbyes! Hoping it's not another year before we get to see them again! God definitely blessed us when he put them in our life!

I guess we are now back to reality ! Looking forward to John's mom coming for a few days this next week! Here are some recent pictures of our trip and of Mary Claire at 3 months old! Enjoy!

1 Month Old Already!

I can't believe it's already been a month since she was born! Goodness time is already flying by!

Mary Claire is doing good. She weighed 6.9 when we took back at a week old. Since that was below her birth weight we had to return at 2 weeks old. That dr appointment she had gained and weighed 7.4!

After her 2 week appointment I started noticing some of the same reflux symptoms Mallory had. After trying the 4th formula, much thought and discussion with a friends mom who is a retired pediatric nurse we decided to take her in at 1month.  we are now trying Zantac and hoping it will give her some relief!

In case your wondering what her symptoms were here they are:
- spitting up
- congestion and horse noises that are much worse at night
- has choked 3 times on her spit up
- will cry uncontrollably for a solid hour at times after eating due to her throat burning.
- arches back at times in pain
- frequent hiccups especially after eating

Due to all we encountered with Mallory as a baby and johns family history with reflux she was probably destined to have it! Thankful I know what to expect and look for but praying hers will not be as severe as Mallory's was!

On the bright side when we took her to doctor yesterday she had gain 2 pounds already since birth! What a relief to know that she was at least gaining weight and keeping enough formula down! Praise God for no weight problems yet! We had problems with weight gain with Mallory most of her 1st year!

Mallory is still loving all things about her baby sister so far! She wants to help with everything from washing bottles to putting on diapers! She also still loves to hold her! I know this will pass at some point so I will enjoy it while it last! She tells me all the time "I love my baby sister" and "she is so cute mommy!".

I feel truly blessed to have 2 sweet little girls! Life is good!

28 Months Came Way to Fast!!!

Mallory is now 28 months old and weighs about 28 pounds! She amazes me every day at all the things she knows and is learning! She still loves to read and has started using words that I wasn't aware she even understood! She loves to point out water towers, buses, motorcycles, and big trucks!

One day in the car, several weeks back, she asked me.."Mommy are you frustrated?"... I was actually speechless after she asked me this as I was driving down the road. A week or so later, she said to me in a sad little voice "she was frustrated". Last week in the car, she told me her blanket was frustrated! I really had to refrain from laughing, and proceed to ask her why it was frustrated.. she then informed me "cause it's dirty mommy." I told her that we could wash it when we got home and she gave me a happy smile!

Mallory is getting a lot more opinionated. I guess that comes with the 2 year old territory!! At times, she will fuss about which sippy cup she gets, which spoon or fork to eat with, and even where ketchup is put on her plate! However, she is getting better at eating meat even though we have to call all meat some form of chicken! This has been working, well, as long as there is ketchup or some sauce to dip it in! She now loves strawberries, when she wouldn't have anything to do with them about 3 months ago. She also still loves to sing. Her favorites she can sing are her ABC's, Jesus Loves Me, Skip to my Lou, Wheels on the bus, Row row your boat, Happy Birthday, This little light of mine, and several more. She also loves to play outside with Daddy's old mini wheelbarrow and wagon. She will follow John all over the yard and help him pick up sticks!!

My favorite thing she has recently learned is that she can now count to 10 pretty consist!! She has been able to count to 5 for a while, but just recently she started counting all the way to 10!! Now, if I can just get her to learn her colors! She has pink and black down, but all the others she confuses!!

She still loves to go to church and usually asks me every day if we can go! She is still very shy/timid around people she doesn't know, but she will talk our heads off!! Every time we are driving in the car, Mallory tells me she wants to go eat at a restaurant ad will start pointing at any building we are next to! This girl wants to eat out every meal!! Needless to say she doesn't always get her way!! I usually respond to her by saying, "we are going to eat at home today." Which in return causes her to say, I not want to eat at home mommy. No eat at home!

Mallory is way tougher than I may ever be with boo-boos. The other day at school and at home she fell and scratched her leg. To our surprise, as well as the teachers, we didn't find out about it until we saw blood running down her leg. I was really impressed that she didn't even complain or cry! She is such a big girl!! Now if we can continue to keep her allergies under control maybe we will stay pretty healthy!!

Mallory is definitely growing up way to fast!! I have to remind myself often to stop what I am doing and just enjoy spending every day with her! One of God's greatest blessing is children!
